In 2018, Indonesia produced approximately 18 million tons of coconut. Hence, Indonesia was also the biggest exporter of coconut products during that year. Philippines and India ranked at the second and third place with approximately 14.5 million tons of coconut production. There are three major islands that contributed around 70% of the total coconut production in Indonesia. Those islands are Sumatera, Jawa, and Sulawesi, with total area of approximately 3 million hectares.
